OMIG: PGR symposium dates and info

14 January 2021

OMIG is pleased to announce details of the OMIG PGR Symposium 2021

In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this will be held virtually on:

Friday 26 March 2021
10am–4:30pm.

Registration will be free.

The idea of the meeting is to allow PhD, MSc and other early career researchers in oral microbiology, oral immunology and related fields to present their work (often for the first time) in a friendly and stimulating environment. Please encourage your research students to submit an abstract for the symposium.

OMIG therefore warmly invites postgraduate research students in oral microbiology, oral immunology or related fields to attend and present their work in either of these formats:

  1. 10-minute oral presentations
Please submit a title and up to 300-word abstract by Monday 22 February 2021: best suited to mid- late- stage PhD or ECRs

  2. Poster presentations.
Please submit a title and up to 300-word abstract by Monday 22 February 2021. Suited to early stage PhDs.

If presenting a poster, you might have the opportunity to do a 3 minute flash presentation also (dependent on numbers); with poster sessions held in virtual breakout rooms.

Please submit all abstracts by Monday 22 February 2021.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact:

ricarda.streich@kcl.ac.uk or S.A.Kuehne@bham.ac.uk

Students and supervisors whether presenting or not are all welcome to attend. We want to get together and discuss oral microbiology and immunology in a friendly atmosphere.

  • A general registration form for the meeting must be completed by non-presenting delegates by Monday 22 March 2021.

  • All accepted speakers will be contacted by Monday 8 March 2021 to confirm acceptance.

  • Details of attendance with links and passwords will be sent in the week of the 22 March 2021.

  • OMIG will award a prize for the best presentation in each category

OMIG hopes that you will be able to attend the meeting in order to support our student members.

Best wishes,

OMIG Committee
