Current research
My PhD project is funded by White Rose BBSRC DTP in Mechanistic Biology and Haleon and aims to study oral microbial communities through nanopore sequencing and biochemical virulence assays and to understand their functional response through metaproteomics. Using chlorhexidine and other novel compounds in varying concentrations, we also aim to understand the role of the human oral microbiome in promoting anti-microbial resistance. This inter-disciplinary project is supervised by Professor Graham Stafford and Dr Jags Pandhal, as well as Dr Dave Bradshaw (Haleon).
